Expert Decluttering Tips that will Transform your Home

Do you want to declutter your home? Maybe you feel as though you need to make a change but don’t know where to start. Either way, going through an entire house of stuff can be difficult, but if you follow this guide, things will become a whole lot simpler.

Avoid Dumping Things

If you have a small table then you may notice that it is often home to your keys, phone and any other trinkets you may have. Although it may be convenient for you to dump things there, you may find that it contributes quite a lot to your home being cluttered. Invest in some catch-all trays, hooks or even some under-bench storage. If you can do this then you will soon find that everything ends up having its place.

If you want to benefit your home then one thing you can do is invest in self storage. That way, you don’t have to worry about getting rid of items you might need, but you also free up space within your home.

Be Smart with Your Storage

Give some thought to what kind of storage you are investing in, and make sure that it works for your home. Sturdy hooks work great for coats, bags and dog leads.

Make sure that the hooks are mounted and that they are within arm’s reach. This will encourage your kids to hang their jackets and coats, so keep that in mind when you declutter.

Divide and Conquer

If you want to organize everything more efficiently then get everything you need out, before you begin. Take everything out of your medicine cabinet and also take the time to clear out your drawers too. Once you have done this, you can then get a clear idea of what you have, and therefore, what you can get rid of. Drawer dividers and even shallow bins are great here as they give you the chance to keep your toiletries organized.

Store Less

Quality over quantity holds true when it comes to your closet. You can apply it to your bathroom as well. Treat yourself to some make-up or even some perfume. Buy some great hand soap too. These are all items you will probably use every single day.

After all, if you have a lot of good products then this means you won’t have to replace them as often. It also means you can buy versatile products and get rid of anything that could be cluttering your space.

Don’t Neglect your Counterspace

If your kitchen feels somewhat cluttered then you are not alone. There is a solution here though. You have to make sure that everything has its unique place. Kitchen surfaces tend to be a magnet for clutter. The build-up often happens when you have paperwork, mail and household items that don’t have a home.

If you can take just a few minutes to make sure that you have a space for things like this, then you will be able to save your counter space and this can work in your favor more than you realize.
