As I reflect on my farm life, there are two entities that truly stand out for their amazing influence and support of rural communities – Tractor Supply and 4-H! Thanks to our partnership with Tractor Supply, I’m pleased to share a new opportunity for you to support your local 4-H clubs in a wonderful way.
My children grew up participating in 4-H clubs and now still continue to work as camp counselors during the summer. I’ve been a 4-H volunteer for many of those years and I’m eager to get started on a new program with our local branch for the state fair next year. Our experience with 4-H has enhanced our lives so much, I certainly look for every opportunity I can to give back.
Which is why I’m thrilled that my favorite farm supply store, Tractor Supply, is committed to reaching a $1 million dollar milestone with their semi-annual fundraising campaign, The Paper Clover. It’s a partnership and initiative that surely makes my heart smile!
What is The Paper Clover fundraiser?
The Paper Clover fundraiser provides thousands of dollars each year to offer opportunities for youth to attend conferences, 4-H camps and other developmental programs across the nation. This fall, Tractor Supply is asking for customers to help them reach the $1 million goal by raising awareness of the campaign via social media shares of their paper clover donations with #DonateAMillion.
Since the program’s inception, Tractor Supply and National 4-H Council have generated more than $13 million in their nine years of partnership for the fundraiser. This spring, the program raised more than $917,000 for 4-H programs and students. This fall, the goal is to raise $1 million!
How can you help?
Beginning October 9, 2019 and running through October 20, 2019, Tractor Supply customers can participate by purchasing a paper clover for a donation of $1 or more during check out at stores nationwide.
Alternatively, you to donate online when making a purchase at TractorSupply.com.
4-H clubs are encouraged to contact a Tractor Supply store to participate during the in-store fundraiser. For more information on Paper Clover, visit TractorSupply.com/4H.
Each donation benefits youth within the state where it was collected, providing scholarships for numerous state level 4-H programs. Fundraising efforts are sourced for programs and events such as visits to the state capitol to meet with the agricultural department, leadership conferences and camps where attendees can study a range of topics from beekeeping to raising and training animals to forestry.
Will you help me share our love of 4-H Clubs?
The popular notion that “it takes a village” has so much merit and fits well within the construct of 4-H. As an individual, my knowledge and skills are limited, as a community our knowledge and skills are vast!
We live in a world where the importance of growing life skills in kids today is paramount. It’s up to each of use to empower our youth with the values and skill sets that will help them succeed and become future leaders, improving their lives, and the lives of others.
Help spread the word! Share a post (on the social media of your choice: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and so on) of why giving to The Paper Clover campaign is important to you, and/or why 4-H is important to you. Use the hashtag #DonateAMillion (and feel free to tag @TractorSupply, too!)
