What would you do if you found out that your best friend – slash- roommate was now your spouse due to a common law marriage clause?
Well, if you are Jennifer (Natalie Hall) and Kevin (Darin Brooks) in “The Seven Year Hitch,” you send the audience on a clever, comedic and heart-tugging ride!
Best friends from the age of six, Jennifer and Kevin wind up being roommates after college while Jennifer begins a blossoming career and Kevin waffles around trying to find his calling.
Speed forward seven years and Kevin is still a bit lost while Jennifer has met the man of her dream and if soon to be on her way to happy-ever-after wedded bliss. Only one problem, her finance is not that man she thinks he is… and oops, another problem, her best friend is in love with her.
Desperate to spare Jennifer from making the wrong moves with the wrong guy, Kevin gets creative and finds a loophole. According to the state, their seven years of living together qualifies them for common law marriage. Now, the only hitch is Kevin has to convince Jennifer that he is the real deal.
Styled in the pattern of a classic romance, “The Seven Year Hitch” is a real heart-warmer that will have you rooting for the right couple to find their blissful fairy tale ending.
This is a great cuddle-up date movie or simply one to enjoy with friends. “The Seven Year Hitch” is available March 5 on DVD.
