If you are like me and striving to live a sustainable lifestyle, recycling is high on your priority list. So, I’m certain that you are as captivated by the idea of children’s furniture that makes use of recycled packaging product. These are not the flimsy cardboard boxes of our youth, though, that we chopped doors out of and made play forts from (though, that certainly was fun!) My children were able to test the Cascade Children’s Cardboard Table and the first thing I can rave about is that after a month of abuse from two-rough-and-tumble Rural Boys, the table has stood strong, currently serving as a building spot for their Lego creations.
The Cascade’s Children’s Table is 84 percent recycled cardboard and 100 percent recyclable, making it a great “green” alternative to regular plastic furniture for children. The tabletop is made of cardboard covered in varnish, which makes it resistant to everyday spills. A cats and mice game is printed right on the tabletop for an extra bonus. The table also ships with a removable cardboard hockey game for budding athletes.
Our second favorite feature is the ability to customize the surface. My sons had a terrific time coloring in the designs and creating new ones of their own. How many times can you tell them it’s okay to color on the furniture- that was super fun!
Also love that the table comes with two crayon organizers on either end. My boys decided these would equally good storage spots for cars, cards, and other toy items.
If your children ever stop playing with the table (mine haven’t,) after use the table can be folded and easily stored without taking up much space. Ideal for smaller home environments or just keeping clutter out of a bedroom area.
