Do you look in the mirror and find that you no longer love what you see? Perhaps you are bored of your look- stuck in a rut and not making the most of your appearance. It’s time to make a change and switch up the way you look. It is fun, but it can be good for your self-esteem too. Here are some ideas!
Change your hair
One of the best ways to totally transform your look is changing your hair. This can make so much of a difference that you can look like a completely different person. Is your hair is currently long? How about trying a shorter ‘do if your hair is long? If it is short, extensions can add instant length and thickness. If your hair is dark, see how it looks with a lighter tone with some highlights, or if it’s light, you could try something dark and sultry.
Spend some time researching different styles, colors, and looks. Speak to your hairdresser, who will be able to recommend something that will match your vision while still suiting you in terms of the cut and color. Even how you style your hair can make a big difference if you don’t want something permanent-search for curling wand tutorials, updos, and other styles on Youtube and Pinterest and practise doing something different.
Get a tattoo or piercing.
A tattoo or piercing is a big decision and not something to do on a whim. But if you feel like giving yourself an edgy new accessory, why not? Perhaps you have had a tattoo idea for years but have never got around to having it done, or have always thought that conch or tragus earrings look cool but never quite had the guts to go to the piercing shop and take the plunge? It’s a fun way to add to your look but is something you can do for yourself, too; if it’s something you like and have always wanted, then go for it!
Try a new clothing style.
Finally, something as simple as changing the style of clothing you wear can make a big difference to how you look and feel. Over time, many of us start dressing more for comfort, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, if you find yourself in loungewear, sweats, and shabby old clothes every day, it probably does not make you feel good about yourself. It’s not to say you need to glam up every day, but it’s worth having a few key pieces in your wardrobe that you know look good on you.
You could go with jeans and funky tops, pretty dresses, skirts, and women’s boots– try out some different looks. One good tip is to scour charity shops, find some pieces you would not usually go for, and try them out. They won’t cost much and will give you the chance to test out a new clothing style to see if you like it.
