How do you define a hero? There are many attributes heroes share like courage and selflessness, but would you know a hero when you saw them walking by? One thing we do easily recognize is an act of bravery when see one. Thanks to our partnership with Warner Bros. If you’ve stopped by Rural Mom early this year, you no doubt saw our coverage on 12 STRONG including an exclusive interview with Chris Hemsworth and insights from the actors, producer and director of 12 STRONG. This film is one of my favorites of the year so far and my sons and hubby agree, it’s inspiring, eye-opening, entertaining and a film that will reaffirm your faith in humanity.
12 Strong really touched me deeply, on a personal, emotional and even patriotic level. This is a film I think everyone should experience, certainly for the entertainment value (it’s well scripted, acted and executed) but more so for the thoughtfulness of its content and tribute to those who risked all at a time we desperately needed heroes.
The home version of 12 STRONG is available for purchase on DVD & Blu-Ray May 1st and I highly recommend adding it to your family movie night! It’s the type of movie everyone will enjoy but will also help lead you to interesting and important family conversations after viewing.
12 STRONG will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and DVD for $28.98. The Blu-ray Combo Pack features a Blu-ray disc with the film in high definition and the special features in high definition, a DVD with the film in standard definition, and a Digital version of the movie. The film will also be available on Movies Anywhere and via purchase from digital retailers beginning April 10.
12 STRONG Blu-ray Combo Pack contains the following special features:
- 12 Strong: The Making of an Impossible Mission
- Monumental Effort: Building America’s Response Monument
Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”) and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (“Nocturnal Animals,” “The Shape of Water”) star in “12 Strong,” a powerful new war drama from Alcon Entertainment, Black Label Media and Jerry Bruckheimer Films that tells the declassified true story of the first American soldiers sent into Afghanistan after 9/11.
I haven’t seen 15:17 TO PARIS yet, but from everything I’ve seen so far, including the intriguing trailer, it looks like a riveting film. It was surprising to learn that the real-life heroes play their own roles in this film, which makes this movie even more fascinating and special!
Available for purchase on DVD & Blu-Ray May 22nd, 15:17 TO PARIS is next up on our family movie night rotation.
15:17 TO PARIS will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and DVD for $28.98. The Blu-ray Combo Pack features a Blu-ray disc with the film in high definition, a Blu-ray disc with the special features in high definition, a DVD with the film in standard definition, and a Digital version of the movie. The film will also be available on Movies Anywhere in 4K via purchase from digital retailers beginning May 1.
The 15:17 TO PARIS Blu-ray Combo Pack contains the following special features:
- Making Every Second Count
- Join Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler – the three Americans who stopped the attack – as they take us moment-by-moment through the real-life drama, just as they lived it.
- Portrait of Courage
- Join Oscar® winner Eastwood and his creative team as they reveal the aspects of the story that moved them and why they took the bold step of casting the three Americans to play themselves in the film.
The 15:17 TO PARIS Standard Definition DVD contains the following special feature:
- Portrait of Courage
From Academy Award winning director Clint Eastwood comes “The 15:17 to Paris,” which tells the real-life story of three men whose brave act turned them into heroes during a high-speed railway ride.
The heroic trio is comprised of Anthony Sadler, Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Spencer Stone, who play themselves in the film.
We have a proud history of military service and we currently have family serving in the military. I consider all of these brave men and women to be heroes. They selflessly dedicate their time and service each day to protect our freedoms and help keep our country safe.
I’m so happy to have the chance to help support films that help share their extraordinary stories!
