What’s on your dog’s dinner menu this week? #HonestToDog

As you likely already know, all of our pets are family on our rural farm.  They follow a similar routine to our each day and are incorporated into every possible aspect of our lives, including routine meal times.  We’re currently serving our dogs The Nurto™ Company as part of a sponsored series with SocialStars #HonestToDog and as always, all thoughts, opinions and experiences are that of RuralMom!

We shower our Great Pyrenees with love each day and of course, occasional treats, too, but admittedly haven’t given them much variety in their daily menu selection for dinner time.  Primarily because it’s a hassle to transition dog food varieties, particularly when dealing with a large breed with digestive sensitivities.

When I first heard about NUTRO™ ROTATIONS™, I was interested in learning more because the natural dog food formula is one we are interested in feeding our dogs.  The food is designed with real meat, chicken and fish as the first ingredient and is made with no GMO’s,  no corn, no wheat, and no chicken by product or or soy protein.  Many of the same attributes I seek out for our family food… and if we are truly going to treat our dogs like family, it only makes sense that we pay more attention to their daily diets.

The composition of NUTRO ROTATIONS was enough to interest me in exploring if our dogs would enjoy this food offering and the ability to offer a variety of flavors really sold me!  This grain free dog food is designed to switch from one recipe variety to another with no transition between bags.  So, my dogs can enjoy salmon one night and chicken the next, just as we do at dinnertime!

We’ve just introduced and transitioned to NUTRO ROTATIONS and so far, it’s a hit.  I can barely get the scoop out to fill the bowls and our big guys are right there, ready to enjoy a good meal.  I feel great that they enjoy the taste and that I know I’m feeding them a natural dog food that be easy on their digestive system.  Whether they notice the change in flavors or not (hard to tell!) it’s fun for us to add some variety to their dinnertime and I certainly hope they appreciate the variety, too.

We are actually getting ready to get a dog. We haven’t had one in years because the last one we had for over a decade was killed suddenly by a truck. It’s taken us a while to be able to open our hearts to do it again. I think we are finally ready to give our hearts away again. I’ve been researching dog foods to start off on the right foot. I love the idea of being able to give them a variety.

I’m so sorry to hear of your tragic loss, Rena. That must have been heartbreaking and I can totally understand where you are coming from. ((Hugs)) to you! Glad that time has opened your heart to gifting another pet a loving home.

We always joke that my poor dog can’t tell the difference between breakfast and dinner because it is the same meal entirely. We do like to give her the occasional treat, though, like a carrot or apple slices.

I love how dog foods and such have changed over the years. Dogs live very well these days, amazing food, spas and such. It is so cute to see.

I wouldn’t want to eat the same thing twice a day, every day so I know my dog doesn’t either. These sound like great varieties to mix things up for your pets.

What a cute pair! I need to tell my parents about this. They have been looking for something new for their dog. This sounds like it would be really good for her.

I like using grain free dog food. This seems super high quality and I like that you can switch them out whenever!

My dog now eats a prescription blend of dog food. It’s a healthier choice and helps with her joints.

We love our dogs and definitely want them to get the best nutrition possible so that they have long and active adventures with us. There are so many choices for dog food – I think there are almost as many as for people!

I don’t have a dog, but I can see how pets would want variety also.

      Cute photos.

This is kind of like what I do for the cats but I do it with wet food at night. Heheh. They’re so adorable and obviously very well loved and cared for!

Big dogs are the best! I am careful about giving my Mastiff high quality, natural foods too. I could definitely switch it up in the variety department though!
