Every fall when the humidity drops, dry skin becomes more prevalent in my home. Every single one of us have varying degrees of sensitive skin, so we have learned how to avoid some of the irritants and triggers that can lead to dry, itchy, red and sore patches of skin for all of us.
By trial and error, we figured out that some of the products we were using on our laundry were irritating our skin, so we made the switch to all free & clear years ago and couldn’t be happier with the results. When all asked me if I would help spread the word about their products and how they could help alleviate some skin issues, I had to say yes. I did receive complimentary all products as a thank you, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Did you know that in America, more than 50 million people suffer from some form of allergies? That’s a whole lot of people suffering, especially during the fall season. I am raising my hand as a member of the fall allergy group and I can tell you, allergies can make you feel really bad, if not managed. Here is a list of fall allergy triggers for you to consider if you or a loved one is suffering.
Know the Truth about Fall Allergens:
- Ragweed is the biggest allergy trigger in the fall. Though the yellow-flowering weed usually starts releasing pollen in August, it can last into September and October, and in warmer places, like the South where I am, well into November.
- For some people who are allergic to ragweed, foods like bananas, melon, zucchini, and certain other fruits and vegetables can also cause symptoms.
- Mold is another fall trigger. Piles of damp leaves are ideal breeding grounds for mold. Check for mold and mildew in bathrooms too, including window sills.
- Don’t forget dust mites. While they are common during the humid summer months, they can get stirred into the air the first time you turn on your heat in the fall.
- Schools are breeding grounds for mold and dust mites, which trigger allergies in kids.
And according to the National Eczema Foundation, close to 30 million Americans may have eczema, so they’ve teamed up with all free & clear to help spread the word about treatment options, especially for our kids. Here’s the National Eczema Foundation’s checklist to assist you.
Eczema prevention check list:
- Moisturize every day.
- Wear cotton or soft fabrics. Avoid rough, scratchy fibers and tight clothing.
- Take lukewarm baths and showers, using mild soap or non-soap cleanser.
- Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel – do not rub.
- Apply a moisturizer within 3 minutes after bathing to “lock in” moisture.
- When possible, avoid rapid changes of temperature and activities that make you sweat.
- Learn your eczema triggers and avoid them.
- Use a humidifier in dry or cold weather.
- Keep your fingernails short to help keep scratching from breaking the skin.
- Some people with allergies find it helps to remove carpets from their house, and give pets’ dander treatments.

Both my husband and youngest son have skin issues. Thanks for the heads up on this, I know they put this brand on sale at Publix so I will have to pick up some the next time I see it.
I’m definitely going to have to check this out because we suffer from a plethora of allergies. I’m going to use it especially on my younger son’s clothes.
