Baking for Friends with Tate’s Bake Shop

Baking for friends and family throughout the year is something I’m very passionate about doing.  Those who know me have certainly been supplied with lots of goodies!  I mean, really, what better way to show up for a visit, than with a tin of muffins in hand? They are certainly always well received!

I like to test new recipes and tailor items for people, too.  For example, my neighbor is diabetic, so I often make sugar-free baked goods for him to enjoy and my friend is on a low-carb diet, so I try to find interesting treat options for her.
You can imagine my excitement, then, to find a cookbook that caters directly to my enthusiasm.  Tate’s Bake Shop: Baking For Friends covers over 120 scrumptious recipes from Southampton’s favorite baker.  With mouth-watering photography and easy-to-follow instructions, you’ll find all types of baked goods: scones, tea loves, cupcakes, tarts, pies, cookies, and much more, including icings, frostings, and sauces.
The first “friends” I shared a recipe with were my sons.  They were clamoring for chocolate chip cookies about the time the cookbook arrived, so I decided to give them a fun twist by making the Tate’s Bake Shop Chocolate Chip Muffins recipe.  The muffins were amazing (of course I had to have a small sampling while they were still warm from the oven) and my son’s reviews were rave!  My muffins turned out a little denser than the recipe as I used bread flour, but that worked out perfectly as they were more like a cross between a cookie and a muffin- a combination that suite just what my boys ordered.

Everything in Tate’s Bake Shop Baking For Friends looks to be as delicious as promised.  My favorite section is the “Health & Lifestyle Baked Goods” which offers whole-grain, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, and heart-healthy recipes.  Perfect for baking for friends who have special needs.
If you plan to bake for friends this holiday season, you’ll find a wealth of recipes to choose from.  If you have a budding chef or friend who loves to cook on your holiday shopping list, Tate’s Bake Shop Baking For Friends would make a terrific addition to their country cookbook shelf.
