I think everyone of us could likely fuel a stand-up routine of comedy comprised solely of family moments and characteristics of our relations. I mean seriously, doesn’t every family have a character?
As a southern gal living smack dab in the middle of the Kentucky Appalachians, believe me, we have some colorful characters… but I really need to look no further than some of the simple absurdities of routine family life, like the silly struggles at bath time, trying to get our rural boys to realize that soap is not optional. It’s lovely embracing the humorous side of life and family antics!
The comedians of the American Family Insurance Stand Up For Family Comedy Special hosted by Bill Bellamy bring all the funny, silly, and common humor of family alive in a way that’s sure to tickle your funny bone. Bellamy’s video “Mamma Talk” is one I can thoroughly relate to- whether your a rural, suburban, or urban mom, I’m guessing that you will see a bit of yourself exemplified in chuckles. I know I’ve had that talk with my boys plenty of times.
A bit of a warning though, if you begin to view the videos for this AmFam Comedy special, you will soon find you can’t get enough of Stand Up For Family humor! No worries, though, it’s kid-friendly, so the whole family can enjoy your obsession.
Be sure to watch “Rock Music” with comedian Donnell Rawlings – if you’ve ever wondered about the lyrics your kids are listening too, you may find some enlightenment… okay, so you’ll probably only find laughter… but that’s even better!
