Each week, Rural Hubby and I identify two affordable wines we’d like to try. Choosing to share them with you because, heck, if you are reading this, chances are you are looking for new affordable wines to add to your table, too.
Our research methods aren’t complex, basically if we see it, like the description, and it’s in our price range, we’re all about sampling it to see if it’s a keeper.
1) Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon http://www.columbiacrest.com/grandEstates/release/181 – Described as: Aromas of vanilla bean, coffee bean, and dark cherries lead to a medium bodied palate accented by dark chocolate covered pomegranate. The supple finish offers silky tannins with hints of dark chocolate and spice.
2) Bodegas Nekea’s El Chaparral de Vega Sindoa Old Vines Grenache (2008+) – Described as: Inky ruby. Exotically perfumed bouquet displays black raspberry, cherry compote, licorice and dark chocolate, plus a sexy floral overtone.
I’m sensing a cherry-cholate theme to our picks this week.. hmmm….
What’s on your wine wish list? What wine have you tried lately that you love?
