What Are The Hardest Parts Of Your Home To Clean?

We all know we have to keep on top of the cleaning in our homes -it’s essential to maintaining our homes as well as our health too. However we all have some tasks that are just hard or annoying, and they end up being avoided for as long as possible, preventing you from having an ideally clean home. Here are some of the hardest to clean places in your home that people tend to avoid.

Behind The Toilet

Probably seen as one of the most disgusting places to have to clean, no one looks forward to having to clean around and behind the toilet. In fact, it’s commonly listed by cleaning companies like Karen’s Green Cleaning as one of the toughest to reach places. All the pipework and base act like a trap for dust and dirt, which can be really difficult to reach to clean without purposely having a deep clean. All the buildup can even lead to a damp, musty smell, making it even grosser to deal with.

In & Around The Oven

The oven is notoriously hard to clean. It’s big, it’s heavy, and it’s awkward. Dirt and grime can get into every little crevice. It can be a nightmare to clean properly without having to somehow drag the oven away from the wall to be able to uncover all the fallen pieces of food that have fallen down over the years. Not only that, but the oven itself is hard to clean properly. Oven racks get caked in built-up grease and burnt food, which is impossible to get off without some elbow grease and something a bit stronger than dish soap.

Keeping The Washing Machine Clean

Washing machines are often one of the most forgotten appliances when it comes to cleaning. A lot of people still think that it’s cleaning our clothes so it must just be able to clean itself. This couldn’t be more wrong. Washing machines need cleaning way more often than we think – every one to three months. Plus, don’t forget about the filters! They also need to be cleaned regularly as they can be full of dirty, stinking water that can even cause big problems. It’s easy to see why people don’t like cleaning them too; they often can pour out gross water all over the floor if you don’t put down a towel or tray.

Stained Sofas

We use sofas constantly so it’s not a surprise they need cleaning fairly regularly and for most people it just involves a quick vacuum or wipe down with a cloth. However this simple, easy clean can quickly turn into a nightmare you want to avoid if you manage to cause a stain. If you’ve got kids, pets or just managed to spill some of your food on it, it can be incredibly hard to get it removed and just dampening a cloth might not be enough. It’s easy to see why an item we use so much can be pretty hard to maintain.

Most of us hate cleaning our homes and avoid it like the plague. Even though it can feel impossibly hard, you’ll enjoy the feeling of a nice, clean, tidy home as well as the satisfaction that comes from cleaning those tricky parts of your home.
