My experience with Hone Health (Month 1)

Let’s be honest — menopause can feel a bit like your body decided to throw a surprise party, but forgot to invite you to the planning committee. Hot flashes, brain fog, mood swings, sleep troubles… all while you’re juggling life, work, and family. That’s where hormone therapy can step in, like a trusted friend who brings snacks, fans, and a good playlist to calm things down.

Before we go any further- Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor, nor a health professional. I have not been paid to make any statements. Take or leave any statement in this post. This is my experience. Yours may vary. You should always consult your health professional for any ailment or before starting any new health regimine.

Like many people, I don’t always have the best experience with traditional medicine. Clinic doctors mainly want to push you in and out of the facility as quickly as possible and don’t always take the time to treat your body holistically. But looking at the full picture offers great benefits. Your body is not one area, everything works together synergistically. High cholesterol may be cause by hypothyroidism and just taking cholesterol medicine will only band aid and mask the root cause.

When I first learned of Hone Health (they reached out to me,) I was intrigued! They offered a consultation and I decided it would be in my best interest to take them up on it. I couldn’t have been more right!

What is Hone Health?

Imagine having a well-being coach, lab technician, and your own personal pharmacist—all wrapped into one sleek telehealth service. That’s Hone Health. It’s an online clinic designed to help both men and women take the reins of their health with ease and science as their guide.

You start by getting advanced lab testing—sometimes up to 50 biomarkers—sent to your door or performed at a local lab. A licensed physician then reviews your results in a video consult and crafts a personalized plan tailored to your body, not a one-size-fits-all template.

It was very easy to schedule the lab testing and my results were ready within a week.  I scheduled my consultation and was honestly surprised by the comprehensive conversation that took place. The doctor I worked with discussed more with me than any doctor I’ve worked with before. She didn’t just tell me what all my results meant, she was able to connect the dots for me on why some things were happening as a result of other health concerns I have.

She also covered what was going well (nice to hear!) and best of all, she asked me every step of the way, what I thought. She didn’t just dictate a treatment plan, she involved me in the process discussing options until we had a comprehensive plan that we were both happy with. To me, that was revolutionary! I’ve never experienced a medical appointment that was so thorough and that involved me completely in the process.

Once my plan was ready, Hone delivered the meds, supplements, and lifestyle guidance straight to my doorstep. We also set a 3-month follow-up. Everything can be handled remotely with convenient follow-ups every few months. You can choose between a “Basic” membership—for simpler access to select treatments—or “Premium,” which includes deep testing, frequent consults, and comprehensive care—all for a monthly fee plus the cost of medications.

A little bit about hormones and menopause

Picture this: you’ve hit menopause and suddenly it feels like your body’s A-team has gone on an extended vacation without warning you. The mood shifts, the night sweats, the mystery weight gain — it’s like the party planning committee for your well-being just packed up and left. But good news — they can come back, and with a little help, they’re better than ever.

First up, Estrogen — the glamorous one in the squad. She’s your radiant friend who keeps your skin glowing, your bones strong, and your moods steady. Before menopause, she’s always there in the background making sure hot flashes aren’t stealing the show, your joints aren’t complaining, and your mind feels sharp. Post-menopause, when she’s not around as much, life feels a little… unmoisturized. Bring her back, and suddenly you’re sleeping better, feeling brighter, and moving with more ease.

Then there’s Progesterone, the calm and cozy friend. She’s the one who brings you tea, tucks you in with a weighted blanket, and reminds you to take a deep breath. She smooths over irritability, helps you get a deeper night’s sleep, and balances out estrogen’s energy so you don’t feel overstimulated. Think of her as the peacemaker who keeps all the other hormones playing nicely together.

And finally, Testosterone — the underappreciated powerhouse. He’s the one who shows up with hiking boots and says, “Come on, we’re going on an adventure.” He boosts your energy, keeps your muscles toned, helps your bones stay strong, and quietly reignites that little spark you thought you’d misplaced somewhere between laundry day and carpool duty. A little testosterone support can make you feel like your motivation’s back in the driver’s seat.

When these three are reunited — in the right balance, under a doctor’s guidance — it’s like the band’s back together. They’re not here to turn back time, but to make sure this next stage is full of vitality, joy, and the kind of energy that keeps you saying “yes” to the things you love. Menopause may change the playlist, but with the right hormone squad, the dance floor is still wide open.

Bottom Line

So far, I’ve found that Hone Health is care that’s built around you, not a one-size-fits-all chart. I received clear explanations of my results (no “doctor-speak” confusion) and the convenience of doing everything from home.

Hone Health delivered the right tools, the right people, and the right plan to help me address my health concerns and menopause symptoms. I’m not far enough into the treatment plan to talk about lasting results, but I can say I’ve had immediate results including a lift of brain fog, better sleep, a major reduction in mood swings, and a lift in energy. Nearly all tof the recommended medications and supplements have provided quality support for my body. There was one supplement that does not suit me, but I’ll discuss that on my next follow-up and I feel confident we will find alternatives.

The only drawback I would like to see improved is having Hone Health accepted by major insurances. Right now, my policy does not cover this service. However, I think it’s worth every penny to have the good results I’ve had so far.
