7 Ways To Make Your Phone Way More Entertaining

Finding ways to make your phone more entertaining seems impossible. After all, aren’t they the most addictive devices in the world?

But it turns out that most people hardly use all the features on their phones, and many of them don’t know they exist.

If you went to your phone’s manual now, you would discover pages of functionality that are helpful to you, but that you never use. Often, these are usually productivity-focused, but many of them can make you more entertained at the same time.

So, how can you make your phone more entertaining so it feels less like a brick?

Capture And Edit Content

One idea is to start capturing and editing content. Spending some time going through and snapping videos before using native editing software is enjoyable.

Obviously, the more engaging the content, the more fun it is to create, so start looking for opportunities. Ask yourself whether you’re doing everything you can to create interesting videos that people will want to share online.

Canva and VSCO are also apps that you should use if you want to edit. These make it simple to modify pictures and videos with beautiful text and call-outs.

Join A Virtual Event

Another idea is to use your phone to join a virtual event. Hundreds of these run daily, so you don’t usually have to look far.

Virtual events like trivia, karaoke, and hobby-based chats are all the rage right now. However, you could also branch out into other areas, like self-improvement or investing.

Virtual events don’t quite feel like being there in person, but they are close. Platforms like Discord or Microsoft Teams usually host them, so downloading the dedicated apps for these services is a good idea.

Get Hooked On Mobile Games

You could also make your phone more entertaining by getting hooked on mobile games, especially if the revolution has passed you by so far. For example, you could download Freecell or simply play games live.

These days, mobile games are for everyone, not just a few gamers. Furthermore, many are free or have free trials, meaning you can try them out before going ahead and buying them. You can also download a mix of games, whether you want to play with friends or just tap away on your phone’s keyboard solo.

Explore Social Media Trends

Failing that, another option is to explore social media trends. Rifling through these can be a lot of fun and helps you feel connected to something new.

For example, you could trawl X for memes that you could share with your friends. You could also look for challenges and live streams to engage with communities and keep things interesting. Often, joining a chat group can be a lot of fun and something that is rewarding long-term.

Learn Something

Another approach is to learn something fun that’s going to reward you in the future. The more you can get into a new language or a topic like cooking, the more your skills will improve.

Learning something is entertainment, if you think about it. The more you can leverage apps like Duolingo or Quizlet, the more you will build your skills, and the more help you’ll be to other people.

If you can make learning feel like a game, that’s even better. When it happens this way, it is more likely to go in.

Curate Your Playlists

If you have a lot of downtime and you need your phone to help you pass a couple of hours, then curating your playlists can be another way to make it more entertaining. You could arrange these by day of the week, theme, or mood, so you always have something to go to.

Find New Apps

Another option is to go on the Play Store and find some new apps to download to your phone. Simply exploring what’s now out there is an exercise in itself.

Usually, you’ll find that there are a lot of options that have been developed to solve nearly any problem you might have. Travel apps are particularly helpful since they allow you to find your way around public transit in new cities and really get the most out of them.

Creative tools are also useful. These let you edit your photos and videos, develop new artwork, or write better. You can use these to practice and enhance your skills, allowing you to become more proficient.

Don’t just look for the most popular apps. Seek out hidden gems that nobody else is using.
