Quick and Colorful Baby Shower Candy Buffet Ideas

One of the events I truly enjoy attending is a baby shower. Even more fun is planning one. At the Sweets & Snacks Expo Tour, Ie discovered some great new products to help you easily put together a dazzling baby shower candy buffet!

Several years ago, when I put together a baby shower for my daughter, I found out how quickly the expense added up! By the time I got around to creating favors for the event, I reeled a bit at the high cost of supplies. With my time and budget both limited, I looked for simpler solution and finally settled on a compromise that turned out cute, but ultimately didn’t meet my “quick and easy” criteria.

How I wish I would have known about Celebration by Frey back then. With their stunning lineup of colorful candies, you can easily create crowd-pleasing party buffets and favors to match your event. I had the opportunity to explore the full line of products and discuss ideas with an expert mixologist at the Sweets & Snacks Expo this year.

From Shimmer Sixlets candies to sport-themed gumballs, Celebration by Frey delivers a fun, innovative line for all your decorative, baking and party needs. They even inspired my crafty DIY spirit to come up with some exciting ideas for upcoming baby showers buffets.

Celebration by Frey is one of six premiere brands owned by StreetWorks Confections, LLC. Their mission includes providing candies in almost every imaginable color for your party, candy buffet, baking needs, and more, keeping up on the latest trends to deliver the candy creations that customers crave. They’ve certainly risen to the task with beautiful candy creations that make every display special.

For my upcoming celebrations, I wanted to think out-side-the-candy-buffet-box a little to come up with a few clever ideas that combined crafts with candy. Below you’ll find directions for three very simple, quick ideas for putting together candy buffet accents.  Each will “wow” your guests and help make the event memorable. You can accomplish each of them in minutes with minimal materials, but everyone will think you invested a lot of time and effort into putting together an amazing display!

Bubblegum Baby Shower Sign

Whether you want to announce the baby’s gender, personalize with the mom-to-be’s name, or just add some eye-catching detail, a sign on your baby shower candy buffet adds a lovely personal touch. With a few beautiful Celebration by Frey Shimmer Gumballs, a glue gun and a couple items from your local dollar store, you can put together a great centerpiece that can also serve as a memento for the mom-to-be after the event.

Supplies:
Celebration by Frey Shimmer Gumballs (in baby shower theme colors)
Glue gun and glue gun sticks
Double-sided tape
5 x 7 Picture Frame with 1-inch mat
Baby Shower greeting card

Directions:

Pre-heat glue gun.

Insert baby shower greeting card into picture frame. Position inside frame mat. Use double-sided tape to secure card in place to the back insert of the frame. (If opt for a greeting card that has raised embellishments, like I did, simply remove the glass from the front of the picture frame and insert it directly in front of the frame backing before securing the backing to the frame.)

Use glue gun to glue each gumball to the outside edge of the frame. You can use one solitary color or alternate multiple colors, as illustrated. Continuing gluing gumballs around the frame until the outer edge is completely covered. And… viola! You will have a delightfully cute baby shower sign to use for your baby shower candy buffet!

Pro Tip:  Customize your sign by creating a 5×7 sign using computer software instead of using a pre-made baby shower card.

Baby Shower Candy Floral Display

I love a floral centerpiece for any occasion. Whether you use real or silk flowers for this quick and easy candy floral display, it will always look sweet and add a classic note of spring to your buffet.

Supplies:
1 bunch of silk flowers (or real flowers)
Celebration by Frey Shimmer Gumballs (in baby shower theme colors)
Celebration by Frey Shimmer Sixlets (in baby shower theme colors)
Glass vase

Directions:

In the glass vase, arrange Celebration by Frey gumballs and Sixlets in layers, alternating gumballs with Sixlets. I opted for traditional white, baby blue and pink colors for a baby shower. You can use any color scheme that suits your event, the options are plenty with all the colors from Celebration by Frey. You can even opt to use one solid color. By alternating the gumballs with the Sixlets, you add visual interest even when using just one color.

Insert flowers as desired. The stems easily slip through the gumball and Sixlet layers, allowing you to quickly put together a stunning arrangement.

Cheers to Baby! Favors

I love the idea of champagne or special cockails at parties, it adds such a fun element of celebration. Most baby showers take place during the afternoon, though, and most mom-to-be’s are avoiding alcohol during pregnancy so, a mock bubbly is the treat of the day with these cute chocolate champagne party favors.

Supplies:
Plastic champagne or cocktail glasses
Celebration by Frey Sixlets (in baby shower theme colors)
Ribbon (in baby shower theme colors)
Optional: Baby shower-themed charms

Directions:

Using ribbon, tie a bow around the stem of the cocktail glass near the base of the glass. If you have baby shower-themed charm, use a second piece of ribbon to secure it to the stem of the glass, as if adding a wine charm.

Fill glass with Celebration by Frey Sixlets. Serve and enjoy!
