You can never drink too much water, and kudos to those of you who get your daily intake in! I’m constantly working on it. Drinking enough water is much easier to do when it’s convenient, but the convenience factor of bottled water isn’t so good for the environment. Here are some crazy statistics (from Ban the Bottle):
“Making bottles to meet America’s demand for bottled water uses more than 17 million barrels of oil annually, enough to fuel 1.3 million cars for a year. And that’s not even including the oil used for transportation.”
“The energy we waste using bottled water would be enough to power 190,000 homes.”
Pretty scary stuff, isn’t it? It’s safe to say that we need to do more to preserve our resources. And we all know that small changes add up to big things! So how can we ditch the bottled water habit for a more eco-friendly world?
The biggest reasons people go for the bottle (ahem…the water bottle!) are water purity and convenience. With so many different options now for reusable bottles, the purity and taste of the bottled water is the only thing standing in your way. That’s a problem easily remedied by a good water filter. I recently tried out AquaTru, the only countertop reverse osmosis water purifier that creates purified bottle quality water right from your tap. It’s actually a step up from the same type of filters big corporations use for bottled water.
What many consumers don’t realize is that the water pitcher filters that you get aren’t purifiers and therefore they aren’t capable of eliminating the toxins that a good purifying filter can. AquaTru eliminates or substantially reduces nearly all of the toxic chemicals in your water.
AquaTru leaves you with clear, clean, great tasting water, right at home or in your office. The 4 stage filtration system removes 20 times more contaminants than the leading best-selling pitcher water filter. As a matter of fact, it’s such a powerful filter that it can turn Diet Coke back into purified water. (I was amazed too!)
The AquaTru water tastes so great that I can’t get enough. Give it a try. It’s a win for your health, your wallet, and the environment as well. Find out more about the AquaTru system on the AquaTru website.
Do you have a water bottle habit? What do you think of those statistics?
