This recipe speeds things up a bit by using frozen bread dough. The step saves you plenty of time in the kitchen, but still delivers the wonderful taste of fresh bread from the oven!
Pair your Italian garlic breadsticks with marinara sauce for dipping and you’ll have a fabulous snack, appetizer or side for dinner.
Quick and Easy Italian Garlic Breadsticks
1 loaf frozen bread, thawed
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 cup cornmeal
Italian seasoning
Grated Mozzarella cheese
Grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Flour a work surface and roll out the thawed bread dough to a thickness of 1/2 inch. Using a sharp knife, cut out 1 inch wide strips of the dough, then cut into even lengths, about 3 to 4 inches each.
Pour melted butter and garlic salt into a shallow bowl. Spread a layer of cornmeal onto a plate.
Dip each dough strip into the butter-garlic, then into the cornmeal, then place onto a baking sheet.
Continue until all dough strips are on baking sheet, then sprinkle Italian seasoning, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese in a thin layer over the top of all the breadsticks.
Bake for 14 to 18 minutes or until breadsticks are golden brown.
Remove from oven, serve warm and enjoy!
