Mother Bruce “Hungry as a Bear” Giveaway #FollowBruce

One of my most cherished memories is reading to my children each night at bedtime.  I like to think it’s part of the reason they are all avid readers now, which certainly warms my heart even more! When they were little, I always looked for books that would capture their attention, inspire imagination and ones that had a sense of humor, too.  MOTHER BRUCE by Ryan T. Higgins has all of these attributes and then-some!

Mother Bruce "Hungry as a Bear" Giveaway #FollowBruce

Clever illustrations, witty text and keen insight into the world of bears makes MOTHER BRUCE a book that your family will treasure.  From my experience, I know it’s a title my children would have requested to be read over and over again.  I’m looking forward to sharing it with my granddaughter this Christmas and know that my daughter will create cherished memories reading it at bedtime to her little one.

About the Book

Bruce the bear likes to keep to himself. That, and eat eggs. But when his hard-boiled goose eggs turn out to be real, live goslings, he starts to lose his appetite. And even worse, the goslings are convinced he’s their mother. Bruce tries to get the geese to go south, but he can’t seem to rid himself of his new companions. What’s a bear to do?

I look for a book that doesn’t add additional stimulation.

I look for fun and educational books for my kids. I would LOVE to win this because it is just too cute, my kids would love it, AND our dog is named Bruce and he looks like a big black bear (he’s a great dane/lab) 🙂

The books we choose for bedtime depend on our child’s day. If a stressful day, a calm book. If a light day, a great adventure book. I want to win this for my reading mentee. He is progressing, but he always loves a new good book! Thanks!

I like one that is going to leave them feeling good for bed. I like one that is not too hard for them to understand but then if it’s boring maybe my son will fall asleep.

My son loves bedtime stories! My daughter never did… She liked to take a bath before bed which calmed her down. 🙂 Anyways my son would love this story! I always look for stories with a moral… ones that will leave them with a peaceful/happy mood in the room. 🙂
