The school year is in full swing here in Kentucky and my sons are already dragging home piles of homework. It’s tough for them to keep up with their assignments, it can also be tough for me to help guide them. While I’m well versed in subjects like language arts, I’m not always the best person to turn to for help with algebra!
Each school year, I seek out solutions and tools to help my sons when they need a little expert guidance with their homework. It’s so important to gift them with the resources they need to have a successful school year!
Get Schooled is a national nonprofit organization that aligns with my values and needs. They are founded on the belief that students have the power to improve their future if they have access to the right information and motivation. This ideal translates well into their newest project the Homework Help Desk, a website designed to help 7th through 12th graders with math, science, and English homework. This is a true blessing for parents, too!
The website is super easy to navigate and use. You simply open it up and can click on “Ask a Question” to receive instant help with your homework question or you can access the “Homework Help” section to find instructional videos and resources by subject. There are even practice sections where you can test how well you understand each topic before moving on.
If your school is now on the Common Core State Standards, the Homework Help Desk helps parents and children with the Common Core Standards to aid with the new concepts and strategies in the classroom. It’s fabulous to have a tool that can help simplify any confusion by providing excellent resources for both parents and children!
Now the next time I cannot figure out how to help my middle schooler and high schooler with a new algebra problem, expert help is only a click away. And best of all, it’s free! This makes me a happy mom homework helper and I know will be of great benefit to my children as they learn and grow on their journey towards a bright future!

You can also find more helpful resources at Be A Learning Hero and Univision’s Clave al Exito (homework help in Spanish,) too.

Get Schooled sounds like a organization. It’s great to have tools to help with homework with the kids.
Oh this sounds great! My son is I. First grade, so I can still help him with his homework, but I know when he gets into the harder math, I’ll have a problem. This sounds like an awesome resource for parents, especially with working parents who might not be home during homework hours.
I hear so much about common core. I am mildly concerned. My son is little now still, so it doesn’t directly affect us yet.
This sounds like a really great app! I’m gonna check it out for our kids! Thanks for sharing.
