Countless times I’ve gone on vacation seeking relaxation and either wound up running non-stop from the second we got to our destination or just didn’t have the facilities that were conducive to winding down at the end of a long vacay day. Recently, I attended the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and had the opportunity to stay at the Disney Beach Club Resort for a reduced rate. We extended our stay on our own at the Disney Yacht Club and via both, we certainly found a little slice of relaxing paradise in Walt Disney World!
The first thing I noticed upon our arrival to the Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resort property was how lush and serene the landscape was. The next thing that stood out was the pristine buildings with colorful awnings and abundance of balconies. It’s a very beautiful sight, nice and airy and perfect for a tranquil escape. Paths surround the property for walking, jogging, a dip in the pools, a quick trip to Epcot (which is about a five minute walk from the property,) or an excursion to the adjoining boardwalk where you will find shops, an art gallery, entertainment and plenty of great restaurants and take-out food locations.
Our room was spacious was lovely “ocean” and “beach” touches throughout the decor. On the Yacht Club side, the decor is very nautical and reminiscent of the ocean. On the Beach Club side it’s very pastel and beach-orientated. One of the helpful staff members told me that it is designed to represent the “ship” on the Yacht club side and the beach it is docked on on the Beach Club side. Which certainly makes perfect sense!
I loved the comfortable beds, ample room to move around, duo-sink bathroom vanities and cozy coffee niche in each room. All the amenities and special extras are exactly what I’ve come to expect from every Disney resort property. One of our favorite features was the cozy balcony. Ours overlooked the garden side and the quiet pool, which I enjoyed as it was the quiet, tranquil view I was seeking. Having a cup of coffee on the balcony each morning while over-looking the lush grounds was a great way to start the day! You can also have rooms overlooking the beach and pool side, which offer equally dreamy views.
One of my favorite discoveries on the property was the Solarium on the Beach Club side. This relaxing area was was always a welcoming respite to cool off in the afternoon, cozy up with a great book or the morning newspaper and also a great spot to enjoy a bite of breakfast from the onsite convenience store across the hallway before heading out to the parks. During a family vacation that’s full of activity and non-stop fun, it’s nice to have a lovely area to visit to take a little break or have a few minutes of much-needed mom quiet time!
Like all Disney properties, the Yacht Club and Beach Club have some fabulous food offerings, too. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches at the Captain’s Grille, an amazing seafood buffet (with crab legs!) at Cape May Cafe and you certainly do not want to miss the ice cream treats at the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop where they offer a wide variety of sweet treats!
If you have special dietary needs, you’ll find great options at the Yacht and Beach Clubs too including some great gluten free meals and sweets.
Next to the amazing pool that the Yacht Club and Beach Club properties share, my son’s favorite activity at the resort was spotting all the Hidden Mickey symbols throughout the resort. They are all so cleverly hidden like the Mickey Mouse symbols in the wallpaper below. I won’t give away any more though, so that you can take the time to discover the fun for yourself!
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Disney Yacht Club and the Disney Beach Club. It’s a great place for families who are seeking a location close to Epcot with something for everyone! There’s plenty to keep the kids busy throughout the day but also lovely views and relaxation opportunities for everyone in your traveling party. This resort gets double thumbs up for being so versatile! I’m glad we opted to spend additional time on our own, it is a resort we definitely plan to return to!

Great shots Barb!! The Yacht Club was amazing…..but then again, I’ve never been disappointed with any Disney Deluxe Resort! So glad we were able to share this time together. I love traveling with friends 🙂
Wow! This place looks beautiful! We have only stayed outside of Disney World. Will have to look into staying here next time, Epcot is a favorite!
I have to add this to our travel must list!
Thank you for sharing this. I hope to take my family to Disney soon. Maybe the Disney yacht club and beach club resorts…
They both look amazing and beautiful.
