The count-down to Christmas is nearly at an end and I’m sure the excitement at your home is as great as it is here! Presents are piling under the trees and it’s getting harder and harder to keep the kiddos from bouncing around the decked-out halls in anticipation.
Now is a great time to get them involved in a fun craft project featuring fun characters from the new Disney Pixar movie INSIDE OUT, a film they are no doubt already excited about, too! (Not familiar with the film, yet? No worries, we have a sneak preview for you below.)
Your kids will love putting together these colorful, fun ornaments and hanging them on the tree. If you want to take things a step further, have your children embellish the ornaments with markers, paint or other craft tools to add their personal touch. We’re adding a bit of glitter glue to ours (as pictured above) to glam things up and have the ornaments catch and reflect the Christmas tree lights. While our glitter is drying, why don’t you join me? Scroll down to find printable INSIDE OUT ornaments and a bonus “Spot the Difference” activity, too.
About the film:
From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all—inside the mind.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
