Keep Your Young Jedis Happy Through the Holidays with Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions and Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars Out

Adventure, excitement – a Jedi may not crave these things but young Star Wars fans certainly do!

Our house is full of anticipation for the upcoming holidays and there are sure to be Star Wars items on and under the Christmas tree as my young Padawans haven’t fallen far from the Dagobah tree.  And of course, we are more than excited to see where Disney goes with the new adventures on the big screen in 2015.  But between now and then, we still need to fuel up our imagination, so we’re tickled to see the releases of STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS: The Lost Missions on Blu-Ray/DVD and PHINEAS AND FERB: Star Wars on DVD (11/11.)

STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS: The Lost Missions

About the Film:

Against a backdrop of ever-shifting loyalties, uneasy alliances and ancient hostilities, the conflict between the Republic and the Separatists ramps up, setting the stage for Darth Sidious’ ultimate act of treachery against the Jedi. In these uncertain times, some of the deepest mysteries of the light and dark sides of the Force are revealed as an intrepid clone trooper uncovers a shocking conspiracy, Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits, and Master Yoda makes a discovery that could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy

My sons, having grown up in the new Star Wars generation, love all of the movies and story lines but are most intrigued with the Clone Wars and Anakin’s pre-Darth Vadar days.  STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS episodes fulfill their desire to explore the battles in depth and know what transpired to push Anakin further and further towards his destiny.  I really enjoy watching their joy and share the experience of watching something we all love together, then comparing note on what we thought of particular details after and relating it back to what we first saw in the films.

After viewing STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS: The Lost Missions, you’ll also enjoy viewing the never-before-seen 16-Minute Documentary covering all six seasons and four additional story reels from “The Lost Missions” Season (Blu-ray only.)

PHINEAS AND FERB: Star Wars

About the Film:

A couple summers ago in a galaxy far, far away, Phineas and Ferb are happily basking in the glow of Tatooine’s twin suns – until plans for the Death Star accidentally fall into their hands, thrusting them (and Agent P) into a galactic rebellion and an epic struggle of good versus evil in Phineas And Ferb: Star WarsTM. Will Phineas and Ferb be able to resist the Dark Side? Will Stormtrooper Candace finally bust a Rebel? Can Agent P stop Darthenshmirtz from using his Force-powered “Sith-Inator”? Featuring 5 additional episodes for over 2 hours of action-packed fun, this mind-blowing, intergalactic adventure is a blast for all ages! May the Ferb be with you…always.

I have to admit, I’m normally not big on Star Wars parodies, but when I saw that Phineas and Ferb were involved, I had a sneaking suspicion I’d enjoy this one.  It was a correct assessment.  The zany duo kept me laughing from start to finish of their galactic adventure! My sons, who are huge Phineas and Ferb fans couldn’t agree more – when it comes to Star Wars spoofs, this is a keeper!

I love Phineas and Ferb and how great they have a Star Wars theme and I know some Padawans at my house that will love watching the Clone Wars. These would be great to get to watch to keep the excitement going for the holidays and have some fun family time moments.

How fun! My son is such a HUGE Star Wars fan. It’s a little bit scary how over-enthusiastic he is about Star Wars, but then again, it’s so easy to know what to get him for Christmas. 🙂 This looks like something that he would love.
