Master Lock and Back to School are the Perfect Combination

The hottest days of summer aren’t upon us yet, but back to school days are.  If you have older kids in middle and high school, you probably have one or two locks on your back to school supply lists.  I immediately thought of the Master Lock brand when my daughter showed me her supply list, so I was thrilled when just a few days later, Master Lock contacted me to do a review for their new back to campus locks. While I did receive complimentary locks to try and share my thoughts with you, I only share products I feel will benefit you.

When I opened the box of Master Locks, I was happily surprised by the coolness of these new locks, and I knew it was going to be tough for my tween to choose between them. Locks are locks are locks usually- but Master Lock has managed to bring cool to keeping your belongings safe.

Not only are these locks cool to look at, they each have special features like Anti-Shim, and the ability to set and reset your own combinations.  Having a limited lifetime warranty is a great feature as well.

I decided I wanted to try unlocking each lock to test ease of use before handing them over to my tween.

First I tried the Master Lock Precision Dial.

Beyond the cute purple color, I thought the ability to set your own combination using words, numbers, or both would appeal to my daughter. This lock is perfect for students who are used to a regular dial interface, and they will love being able to personalize their combination. I had it open in no time flat, so I know my daughter won’t have any trouble getting in and out of her locker quickly.

Next, I tried the Master Lock Cylinder Set-Your-Own combination lock.

I have to say, I love the unique look of this cylinder lock. I read the instructions, and learned that these Set-Your-Own Combination Locks offer more than 10,000 combinations, and are easy to set and reset. This lock would be perfect for students who crave lots of variety. They can set their combination using words, initials, acronyms and numbers.
This lock, while easy to open, was a bit more challenging for me, because you have to be careful to turn one cylinder row at a time. This lock would be better suited for an older student who would do better at turning the cylinders, and remember to rotate them to re-lock before heading to class.

This last lock has cool written all over it. If I were back in school, this would be THE Master Lock I begged for.

Take a look at the Master Lock dial Speed Digital combination lock.

With its light up keypad, one-handed, no look operation, 5 year battery life, and the backup master code stored in MasterLock’s online vault, this lock is a stunner. If you have a student who loves gadgets, and all things techie, they are going to want- no NEED-this lock.

I tested it out, and yep, you really can open it one handed. Perfect for your student who is trying to balance a huge Chemistry book, talk to a friend, and make it to the next class on time.

I set all the locks before my daughter, with their combinations, and she had them all opened much faster than me. No surprise there. She chose the cute purple lock first, and will be taking it to school soon. While we opted to keep the pre-set combinations, changing your combination looks easy to do by following the instructions provided with each lock.

I invite you to visit Master Lock to learn more information about these locks and all the other Master Locks available.

I used a combination lock from Master Lock when I was in school many years ago. It’s cool to see how they have evolved since then. I love the trendier styles! My little boy needs a lock for the first time since we’ll go to swim lessons. I think that the Master Lock Cylinder Set-Your-Own combination lock would be perfect for this.

Same here! That’s the first lock I had, as well, and I also love the new innovations. Amazing what cool features are available now, but still the same wonderful, durable quality!

Master Locks are the locks that we purchase at my school for our middle school students. They are reliable and secure and keep the locker areas safe for everyone.
