Nutty Nutella Granola Bar Recipe | Quick & Easy Breakfast Twist #PlatefullCoOp #spon
We’re livening things up and putting a special twist on breakfast thanks to information and sample received from General Mills through Platefull Co-op.

The alarm didn’t go off!  Snow is piled three inches thick on your car windshield.  Your son’s backpack is missing in the wilderness he refers to as a bedroom.  The milk carton is empty and you have no back-up plan for breakfast.  Your daughter can’t find a mate to her sock and her best jeans didn’t get washed… two second and counting to total melt-down!

Do any of these scenes sound familiar?  You’re certainly not alone.  Rushed and hectic mornings challenge even the most organized of families.

For chaotic mornings, it’s a good idea to have a back-up plan to put a quick, nutritious breakfast into the hands of everyone scrambling for the door.  A great way to do this is to staple items in your pantry aka twist things up to create a fun and portable breakfast treat that will make everyone feel a little less stressed and help provide fuel to rush off towards the rest of the day.

My go-to is to create a meal out of plain granola bars by using hear-healthy toppings like walnuts and dried fruits. Our favorite combo is one we refer to as “nutty Nutella.”

Nutty Nutella Granola Bars

1 package Nature Valley® Granola Bars
1 Nutella® mini cup
1 Tbsp walnuts, chopped
1 Tbsp coconut, shredded

Spread 1/2 of the Nutella mini cup in an even layer atop each granola bar.  Sprinkle with coconut and walnuts.  Press coconut and walnuts gently into the Nutella with your fingertip.  Serve and enjoy!

The great thing about this incredible simple and delicious recipe is that you can mix it up any way you wish. Swap the walnuts with chopped pecans.  Trade in the coconut for raisins.  Change the Nutella mini cup to 2 tablespoons of Jif® peanut butter.  There are plenty of ways to custom create a bar just for you.!

Think outside the breakfast box and try mixing up other breakfast favorites in new ways.  Use the ideas below for inspiration:
