Short on time and want to whip up a simple treat everyone will love?  Banana pudding cups are always a sure-fire hit.

The steps are effortless, but the end result will have your family or guests thinking you the day prepping.  There one super simple secret to making instant banana pudding taste like homemade and the rest is, well, a piece of cake.

Ingredients:  Ripe bananas, milk, banana flavored instant pudding, pure vanilla extract, vanilla wafer cookies, and whipped cream.

Tools: Measuring cups, whisk, medium mixing bowl, small serving cups, sandwich baggie, and a spatula.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk pudding mix with milk as directed on package. Add 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and whisk until fully blended- this is the secret, don’t skimp on this step – the key to making box banana pudding taste homemade is to add a high quality vanilla like Rodelle or Nielsen-Massey to it when mixing.  Believe me, you will taste the difference and everyone will wonder where you found such a fabulous pudding.

Allow pudding to set.

Place a few vanilla wafer cookies in a small sandwich bag.  Seal the bag and lay flat on the table.  Use your hand or a small cup to crush the cookies until crumbed.

Pour a layer of the crushed cookies into each serving bowl.

Peel and slice a banana into thin slices.  Add a layer of banana slices to each bowl on top of the crushed cookies.

Using a spatula, add a few dollops of pudding on top of the banana layer.

Top pudding with a dollop of whip cream and garnish with a vanilla wafer and a banana slice.  Then serve and rake in the compliments for a fun and tasty dessert!
