Stuffed with Turkey? Just Dance!

I don’t know about you, but I have way too many memories from my childhood of trying to find something fun to do at our relatives that didn’t include watching football games, napping on the couch, or keeping up with the gossip in the kitchen.  Ho-hum.  Not that my childhood was drab or anything and we certainly loved to create our own play time, but Thanksgiving always seemed to be a holiday geared towards the older crowd… and we kids got a little lost in the mix.

When I started my own family, I decided that no matter what the holiday, there would be no utterings of “I’m bored” or drab faces pouting in the foyer.  There would be fun festivities for all, children included!  This “plan” I hashed out included ample stocking up of board games, coloring books, building sets, and outdoor toys like Frisbees and footballs. When the kids say they need something to do, I had plenty of options available.

As times have changed, I’ve kept all my standard staples, but added a new, enticing activity guaranteed to get the kids (and adults) involved- video games!  But not just any video games, I wanted something that still encouraged movement (to shake off that turkey-induced sleep mode and to burn off a few calories to fit in dessert) while keeping everyone upbeat and amused.  Just Dance fit that bill quite nicely and quickly became a family and guest favorite!

Last holiday season the kids had a blast playing Just Dance 3 on Wii

This year, I’ll be adding Just Dance 4 for PlayStation Move to the mix and “I’ve Got a Feeling.” that it’s going to be a show stopper!  Likely to out-shine my turkey dinner, but hey, I can live with that… because the truth is I’m a huge Just Dance fan and just might have to show the kids how it’s done (or, okay, at least try to keep up with them!)

Ubisoft’s Just Dance 4 is bringing the ultimate party to your home with four player simultaneous dancing, crew mode which lets every player dance a unique choreography, over 40 new dance tracks and an all new battle mode.

I’m also happy to learn that Just Dance upgraded the “Just Sweat” mode (which I’ll be using throughout the holidays to help stay fit) in Just Dance 4. The upgrade includes brand new workout sessions, personalized programs, and a real calorie counter.

Once the music starts, it instantly attracts a crowd…

Do you have a standard plan for keeping everyone entertained (and awake) at family gatherings?  Why not add a little dance to your celebrations?

Purchase Just Dance 4 on Amazon or at your local electronic game retailer. Just Dance 4 is available in PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 versions.

Yup, all anyone ever does for our holiday gatherings is play video games. Maybe I can get them to spice it up this year with Just Dance!

All the nieces and nephews will be together for Thanksgiving and this would be so much fun for them! Not to mention, fun for the adults to enjoy:) My youngest sisters family hails from the opposite end of the country now so when we all get together, we like to add all the special treats and activities that we can. Thanks for the intro 🙂
