The first time my boys watched the Almost Naked Animals cartoon on Cartoon Network, we had a huge giggle fest over the name of the show. And it turned out that the show certainly lives up to the silly fun of its name.
Almost Naked Animals is a quirky, giggle-worthy, off-beat comedy series that features a group of almost naked (they wear their underwear) animals who run a beach-front hotel, the Banana Cabana. Their primary goal seems to be entertaining mayhem and making each day a little more zany-fun for the guests and ensemble cast of amusing critters.
So naturally, we have cause to celebrate the launch of the Almost Naked Animals Volume 1 DVD release and the Almost Naked Animals Online Super Game which will both go live September 25. And what better way to celebrate than with an Almost Naked Animals viewing party?
Since we thought it probably less-than-a-stellar idea to try to dress up our cats, dogs, and chickens in undies (though it certainly would have been an interesting en devour.) we opted for good ol’ party fair instead. But first we had to make sure we didn’t get disturbed by any high-jinks during our Almost Naked Animals DVD watching-palooza. My boys (ages 9 & 11) made a sign that would make Bunny, the hyperactive activities director at the Banana Cabana, proud.
For characters as colorful as Howie (the hospitality-challenged manager,) his sister, the prissy Poodle, and Piggy the disorganized yet passionate cook… we had to come up with a treat worthy of serving at the Banana Cabana. So, pink lemonade cake with vanilla frosting with fun colored chips seemed like a delightfully odd, refreshing choice (and it certainly upped the “yum” factor of our showing.)
Cake, popcorn, props… we were more than ready to let the chaotic silly-fest begin…
And you know you have achieved party success when the kiddos are laughing and dancing before the show even starts…
The Almost Naked Animals Volume 1 DVD features the first six episodes of Season One along with bonus videos including the Almost Naked Animals Music Video and Howie’s Stunt School. It’s a great DVD for celebrating and enhancing your love of the Almost Naked Animals show or to simply introduce your family to the sheer enjoyment of this outrageous-joy-of-animation-goodness.
My boys’ favorite scenes are when Howie’s stunts go wrong, the explosions that ensue, and any scene with Duck who is a mischievous-funny-creative and generally inept handyman. In their words, “mom, it’s just crazy fun!”

Gee this sounds so fun and I’m going to have to try and find this program to watch, better yet maybe I can find the DVD and just have it on hands for the kids when they come over. This looks like a fun party.
This sounds like a fun video for the nine year old. Thanks for sharing with us!
