Broke Leg Falls Kentucky, After The Storm

One of my favorite locations, Broke Leg Falls, in our county was destroyed in the round of tornadoes that hit Kentucky earlier this month.

Broke Leg Falls is a little known water fall in Kentucky that lay off the beaten path.  When highway access through the Red River Gorge area changed, our little falls became even more obscure.
For locals, though, it was a lovely recreation spot.  A quiet location to take the kids for a picnic lunch while marveling at the spectacular beauty of the area.

While minuscule in comparison to the lives, livelihoods, and homes lost, I am still saddened by the loss of access to this tranquil spot and humbled by nature’s power to completely transform the landscape.
Continued prayers for all those affected.

Thanks, Annie. It is difficult to capture in pictures the true magnitude of it.

I have family all over Menifee. My Mom lives up in Wellington. She said Broke Leg was pretty much destroyed. We always stopped there while down from Indiana for a visit.Just awful what everyone has been through.
Thanks for the pictures. Shannon W
